Job Description

Perennial Management Group LLC (PMG) is looking for an Inventory Control Manager to head up the team at one of our managed companies Pacific Export. This position is crucial to multiple companies within our portfolio and finding the right candidate to contract with is of the utmost importance to us.

The Inventory Control Manager is a fully remote position responsible for overseeing all operations, systems, and people resources at Pacific Exports, one of our entities. Pacific Exports is focused on supplying our customer(s), large-scale retail operation(s), selling general merchandise of all varieties. This position requires experience in inventory management, purchasing, and ordering within a retail environment.

Success in this position will require leveraging the team around you, leading and developing your direct reports, and proactive implementation of your skill set throughout PMG.

Core Responsibilities:
Ordering
Including but not limited to: Creating Orders based on sales history and numerous internal/external factors. Utilizing available data and critical thinking to determine quantities needed for our customers orders.

Purchasing
Experience in ordering for retail sales, creating and reviewing orders from existing vendors, and utilizing macro-based spreadsheets. With experience in dealing with many different SKUs while utilizing critical thinking to subs goods accordingly. Reviewing all incoming sales orders in detail to ensure no discrepancies.

Logistics
Including but not limited to: Monitoring freight forwarders, internal/3rd party trucking, creating packing lists for containers, scheduling containers, overseeing shipping schedule, and facilitating the mailing of postal inboxes ,: all while ensuring all time frames and deadlines are met.
Communication
Including but not limited to: Hosting weekly and bi-weekly alignment meetings with PMG Entities, vendors, team members, to ensure all inventory and procurement operations run effectively.

People
Including but not limited to: Managing people, learning and development training, team member check-ins, and performance evaluations.

Processes
Including but not limited to: Creating SOPs, monitoring process effectiveness, adapting processes as needed.
Seasonal
Including but not limited to: Seasonal orders & adjustments for Easter, Graduation / Valentines, Mother’s Day / Father’s Day, XMAS / Halloween, Back to School, and Composition Notebooks while monitoring sales data to account for trends and fluctuations

Hard (Technical) Skills

Inventory Management
Experience managing large quantity of SKUs for retail sales, monitoring stock levels: Identifying shortages, and ensuring adequate product stock for all distribution channels.

Product Substitution
Experience in finding appropriate products for substitution when the original product is out of stock or discontinued. Experienced in procurement of retail goods , and determining based off existing data if a products needs to be substituted, or if sales history warrants the products to no longer be stocked.
Communication
Excellent communicator to: Stay in touch with vendors, clients, and internal teams. They should also be able to host bi-weekly conference calls and stay in communication with stakeholders keeping the customers interests and needs as a priority.

Leadership
Experienced leader with a personal leadership philosophy and proven track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.

People Development
Experienced in training and developing talent with: Clear expectations, regular check-ins and competency assessment, and development paths for highest impact.

Soft (People & Thought) Skills

Able to soundly solve problems when items are out of stock or no longer available and able to find new vendors when needed. Keeping in mind factors such as, similar goods stocked,

Experience & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Required
4+ years experience as inventory controller (or similar), or buyer (or similar)
2+ years experience in people management.
Experiencing managing 100+ SKUs at the same time (1,000+ SKUs highly preferred).
Fluent in professional and conversational English
Able to work aligned hours to Pacific Standard Time
