We are looking for an Information Security Analyst to join our team to protect our organization from cyberattacks by monitoring our systems and evaluating threats as they arise. An Information Security Analyst’s responsibilities include reviewing computer networks and identifying any potential vulnerabilities, installing the necessary software in order to protect it from unauthorized access, and documenting detections so that future breaches can be mitigated efficiently. Ultimately, you will defend our organization’s cloud infrastructure, computer hardware, software and other systems from theft, loss and other cyberattacks.
Working as an Independent Contractor for Canyon GBS
This is a remote, full-time, independent contractor position with Canyon GBS. We choose to treat our independent contractors like family, and we offer some attractive perks including an annual health bonus, an annual retirement bonus, and 13th month pay bonus. IMPORTANT: To be an independent contractor for Canyon GBS, you must be comfortable using TimeProof. Additionally, you must have access to a high quality internet connection, a secure/dedicated desk or place to work from your home, and you must have all of your own equipment including a high performing desktop or laptop with a mic and webcam. You will work directly for the CEO and will be expected to regularly attend video conferences and must be comfortable being on camera.
Responsibilities
– Monitoring computer networks for security issues
– Investigating security breaches and other Information Security incidents
– Installing security measures and operating software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
– Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause
– Work with technology teams to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
– Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
– Stay current on Information Technology (IT) security trends and news
– Develop company-wide best practices for IT security
– Work closely with penetration testers to assess the security of infrastructure and applications
– Help colleagues install security software and understand information security management
Requirements and Skills
– Proven work experience as an Information Security Analyst or similar role
– Experience in information security or related field
– Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
– Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts
– Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred
Physical Requirements
– Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Other Requirements
– You must pass a background check before beginning work as an Independent Contractor.
