IT Recruiter (U.S. Based Resources)

We are a small New York City based IT Consulting and IT Professional services company with about 70 consultants that provides IT Professional services to mostly New York City government clients.
We mostly hire IT professionals to work remotely and on-site on our projects and for our clients. The majority of our clients are in NYC, but our candidates can work anywhere in the United States. There are times where we look for offshore resources but that’s not common.
We are seeking an experienced IT Recruiter to join our team. As an IT Recruiter, you will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top IT talent for our organization. You will work closely with hiring managers and HR to understand the technical requirements of various roles and source candidates accordingly.
The IT recruiter will assist us in hiring both full time employees (20% of the time) and contractors (80% of the time). We will provide access to job boards.
Job Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and create job descriptions
2. Source and screen potential candidates through various channels (job boards, social media, referrals, etc.)
3. Conduct interviews and assess candidates’ technical skills and cultural fit
4. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified IT professionals
5. Negotiate offers and close candidates
6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in IT recruitment
7. Provide regular updates to hiring managers on the recruitment process
8. Participate in recruitment events and job fairs
Requirements
1. Proven experience as an IT Recruiter or similar role
2. Strong understanding of IT roles, technologies, and trends
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
6. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred
7. Very strong written and verbal communication skills
8. Must be organized, detail oriented, and has a knack for following up
