IT Systems Engineer
Summary
We are a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) with a strong reputation for delivering reliable and efficient IT solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role that offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional on-site client visits.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in managing and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of our clients’ IT systems, including servers, networks, and security systems.

Your role will involve troubleshooting complex technical issues, implementing system upgrades, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across multiple client sites. You will also work closely with our clients to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions to meet these needs.

Key Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is expansive and may be augmented to incorporate additional tasks as deemed necessary by management.
– Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, networking, and system issues through advanced troubleshooting techniques. Analyze issues involving multiple technology layers and make informed decisions to address and rectify problems.
– Incident Management: Handle escalated incidents from first-level support, providing detailed analysis and resolution. Manage incidents across various platforms and maintain an incident resolution log to track trends and repetitive issues.
– System Administration: Perform system administration tasks for desktop, server, and cloud environments. Working knowledge of active directory, creating user accounts, resetting passwords, creating groups, and security group policy administration.
– Project Involvement: Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and rollouts. Provide technical input and support during the planning and implementation phases.
– Documentation and Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports on incident handling, system performance, and project status. Update and maintain detailed documentation for IT processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
– User Training and Support: Develop and conduct advanced training sessions for end-users on system functionalities and new technologies. Create user guides and FAQ resources to assist users in resolving common issues independently.
– Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on mentorship and collaboration; ability to lead and work within cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience:
– Minimum of 5 to 7 years of overall experience in a technical support role
– Minimum 3 years experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT Company
– Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred not required
– Industry certifications with Microsoft, Cisco, Amazon, Google, VMware, CompTIA or any other IT certifications are a plus
– Experienced in managing Windows and Linux including servers.
– Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
– Experience with managing Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
– Proficient in using ITSM tools: Connectwise, AutoTask, ITGlue

Job Type: Full-time, open to Part-time applications

Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8am-5pm CST
On call weekends as needed
