Java Developer needed to develop and provide support to in-house system for a fast growing finance business that aspires to work for an Australian firm REMOTELY – ideally long term or project based – excellent pay and lots of flexibility!

You are proficient with programming languages, advanced Excel, VBA and you MUST have the experience in developing application systems from scratch using Java Programming and have referees that can vouch for your ability.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
– Assess current work process and propose improvement with IT solutions
– Develop new web-based applications by replicating current application run using Microsoft Excel macros – ideally you have advanced VBA knowledge
– Maintain the in-house system and resolve any technical issues.
– Manage the Overall IT Operations to support the business and office system e.g. resolve OneDrive issues, setting up profile and accesiblity for new staff, Ms Outlook, Overall security and cyber risk managment

To be successful in this role, ideally you should have:

– Proven experience in developing software application from scratch ideally with Java as most finance industry system are Java based – You will be guided through if no previous experience in developing the system
– Understanding about financial markets – Bloomberg and trading is an advantage
– Access to reliable and high speed internet
– Available during Sydney hours to collaborate with the company owner and have progress updates
