Our client, a UK based Accounting Firm, is looking to expand their Philippines team. They are looking for a full-time administrative assistant and general bookkeeper with a minimum of 3 years of experience. You will be performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks, including: Maintaining financial records in accordance with UK regulations, Reconciling bank accounts, Generating monthly financials statement, maintaining calendars in Outlook, data entry and performing various administrative tasks. Having a CPA License or Bookkeeping certification is a big advantage for this role, but not required.
Please note this is NOT an accounts role. This is a junior bookkeeping role for someone that can keep a client’s books up-to-date and accurate. We are a 100% cloud-based firm, knowledge, and proficiency in using the computer and various business software is needed in order to be successful at this job. A candidate should be familiar with accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Training will be provided with respect to UK accounting standards.
This is a full time hybrid role working on an evening work shift – 3pm to 12am Philippines Time. You will need to come to the office in BGC from time to time .
Responsibilities
• Evening work shift
• Handle accounts for multiple clients
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records and financial statements including in accordance with UK accounting standards :
• General Ledger Journal Entries (double entry – cash and accrual basis)
• Cash Receipts and Disbursements
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Debit and Credit Memos
• Adjusting Entries
• Bank Reconciliations
• Financial Reporting
• Monthly Trial Balances
• Monthly Depreciation Schedules
• Administrative responsibilities to support Management and the firm’s initiatives
Qualifications
• Have a reliable internet connection (and a backup connection if in an area where electricity outages, typhoons, etc affect the connection)
• Fluent in English – written and spoken
• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent
• Experience as an administrative assistant is Highly Preferred
• Must have 3 years of experience in general accounting/bookkeeping covering the entire spectrum of the accounting cycle
• Must have experience with journal entries for income, expenses, assets, liabilities, owner’s equity, and adjusting entries
• Proficiency in using in MS Office applications (Word – Excel – PowerPoint – SharePoint)
• CPA Certification is a Highly Preferred
• Experience and Certified on Xero is Highly Preferred
• Experience using other accounting software is a plus
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Meet deadlines and expectations set by Management
• Well organized with an attention to details
• Ability to be solutions oriented when completing tasks
