About the Position
This is a 6-month gig with the expectation of 30+ hrs per week.
As a Junior Data Engineer / Developer, you will work directly with our Data Engineer and CEO. In starting out, you will spend your time making product data updates & edits, creating data processes that ensure accuracy and maximize efficiency, and seeking out opportunities to build and apply automation to these workflows. You will also you will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate loves data accuracy with a keen eye for detail, is tech savvy, and is always thinking how to improve processes and make things better. You’ll play a key role in helping us build a foundation to accelerate business growth. If this describes you, we want to hear from you!

You will be responsible for:
• Product Data Accuracy: Continuously monitor and maintain data accuracy across all product pricing, costs, and merchandising data fields, ensuring that data remains reliable for business operations.
• Product Data Updates: Make updates to existing product data as new information arises; add new products and variants. This will be a daily occurrence.
• Product Data Validation: Perform regular data validation checks to identify and rectify discrepancies, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Building automation: Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines using Python.
• Database Mgmt: Participate in the design and implementation of data warehousing solutions.
• QA: Develop and execute data quality checks and cleansing routines.
• Team player: Collaborate with others to build better systems.
• Documentation: Document data processes, standards, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
• Being Flexible: As a small business, we all have to wear many hats. Your skillset may need to be leveraged across other responsibilities as well to wherever it might be needed most.

Qualifications:
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
• A plus (but not required): experience with Javascript and React for light front end development
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• A desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently, and sometimes, with minimal direction
• Strong communication skills. Will speak up often to confirm understanding.

Job hours will be sometime between 5am EST and 3pm EST Mon-Fri, and can be flexible. We can discuss your ideal schedule.
