Junior Tax Accountant

Please Note – This is not a freelance position/ not available for outsourcing to other staff. This role is solely for Part-time working hours (20 hrs per week) strictly during working hours.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced accountant who has worked at least 2 – 3 years with an Australian accounting firm to work. Your role will include:
• Preparation of Business Activity Statements
• Preparation of Financial Statements
• Preparation of tax returns (mostly individuals)
• Reconciling asset registers
• Implementing software for asset registers and hire purchases
Skills and Qualifications
• Qualified accountant or at least 5 years experience as a tax accountant with an Australian accounting firm
• 3+ years preparing financial statements in Xero
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organisational skills
• Proven ability to multitask and meet critical deadlines
• Eye for detail and reliability
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team
• Energetic and positive
• Excellent MS Excel skills and be able to read formulas.

Essential Position Requirements:
Availability to work minimum of 20 hrs per week.
Has a high level of written English and strong communication skills.
Xero & Payroll Certified or minimum of 6 months experience (required)
Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (required)
Is able to work from home with good quality internet and speed of at least 20 – 30 Mbps. (Please provide a screenshot)
Take a job from start to finish with accuracy and have the ability to query results & do checks for reasonableness. (We will not micro-manage as much as possible)

Last note: As this is a 100% permanent work-from-home set-up, you must have your dedicated area to work (preferably a separate room) and you have to provide your own Computer equipment with an extra 1 monitor, camera and own headset.
