L&D Instructional Design Specialist

Job Summary:
The Designer, Instructional position plays a crucial role in enhancing our training programs. The Instructional Designer will work collaboratively with subject matter experts, trainers, and team members to design and develop engaging and effective learning materials that align with our business objectives.

Job Description:
Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and update training materials including eLearning modules and presentations.
Needs Assessment: Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct training needs assessments and identify performance gaps to inform curriculum development.
Content Creation: Create interactive and engaging learning content that promotes knowledge retention and skill development.
Learning Technologies: Leverage instructional design tools and technologies to enhance the learning experience, including eLearning authoring tools and learning management systems.
Evaluation: Develop assessment tools and conduct evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
Compliance: Ensure that all training materials adhere to industry regulations and company policies.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Stay Current:: Stay updated with industry trends, instructional design best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance training strategies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Other related duties:

-This position is an individual contributor with no direct reports.

Qualifications:
Technological Proficiency: Proficiency with eLearning tools (Articulate Rise, Storyline 360), LMS, multimedia software, Zoom, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) required. Preferred: SharePoint, Smartsheet, Canva, Vyond, Camtasia, Clipchamp.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team Player: Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with subject matter experts and training professionals.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and quality in training materials.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to change
Financial Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the mortgage or financial services industry is a plus, but not required.

Education and/or Experience:
•Preferred: Bachelor’s in Instructional Design or related field. Required: 2-4 years in instructional design, curriculum development, and training with knowledge of adult learning theory.
Language Skills:
Able to understand business journals, financial reports, and legal documents, and present information to various stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills:
Application of mathematical concepts in practical scenarios.
Reasoning Ability:
Apply common-sense reasoning
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
None required.
Physical Demands:
Include sitting, talking, hearing, occasionally standing, walking, handling objects, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Accommodations for disabilities are available.
