Laravel Intermediate full-stack programmer (full-time, remote)

NEXXOR inc. is seeking a motivated intermediate full-stack developer. This is a full-time remote position. Your responsibilities will be to develop, maintain and optimize our internal and clients’ systems. You will also assist in analyzing and developing our next projects (both internal and for our clients).

*About us / the role:*

We are a small company that has clients in North America and France. Our clients are usually small businesses that need help with their IT systems. We mainly develop their management systems, but we could also help them in managing their IT infrastructure and website, if needed.

We need someone that is trustworthy and reliable, that is organized and able to take over projects and start new ones, that likes to learn and that does what he/she says.

You will be working closely with me – Erik (hi!), owner, business analyst and developer – to update & maintain our clients’ systems. You would also be the lead developer on the new projects planned for the next 3 years.

We offer a salary of 40 000 to 50 000 php (negotiable, depending on experience) with yearly bonuses, on a freelance basis. Also, we are quite flexible in the schedules, as long as the business and clients’ needs are covered. We provide and plan continuous training, as I think it’s the best way to provide high-quality products to our clients in the long term.

*Key Responsibilities*

1. Develop and maintain web applications and websites using Laravel (mostly).
2. Work with databases such as MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
3. Collaborate to develop high-quality software to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
4. Develop, manage and maintain systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
5. Assist in client management, addressing concerns, emails and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
6. Perform other tasks related to website management and client support as needed.
7. Perform some research, technology watch, etc.
8. Perform some virtual assistant tasks in low times (emails, research, etc.)

*Requirements*

1. Proven experience in Laravel (including PHP, HTML, CSS, etc.).
2. Strong knowledge of MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server (from a development standpoint).
3. Proven experience in VBA programming (Excel and Access) is a strong plus.
4. Knowledge of Javascript.
5. Knowledge of WordPress development is a plus.
6. Knowledge of servers and Linux is a plus.
7. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of French and or Mandarin is a plus.
8. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
10. Willingness to take on additional tasks related to systems management, client support and customer service.
11. Be able to sometimes work during the evening as our clients are mainly in North America and Europe.
12. Be willing to do some virtual assistant work, research, emails, etc.
