– Tenant Disputes and Evictions: Advising on tenant disputes, including issues such as non-payment of rent, lease violations, and evictions, and representing the company in legal proceedings when necessary (particularly initiating debt claims through to a judgement and enforcement, including potentially speaking for the company on telephone hearings).
– Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations for managed properties, including conducting risk assessments, implementing safety measures, and addressing any legal issues that may arise.
– Regulatory Compliance: Staying updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting property management, such as landlord and tenant legislation, data protection laws, and property licensing requirements, and ensuring company compliance.
– Contract Management: Managing contracts with vendors, service providers, suppliers and contractors involved in property maintenance, renovations, and other services, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts to protect the company’s interests.
– Insurance Matters: Advising on insurance coverage for managed properties, including obtaining property insurance, liability insurance, and ensuring adequate coverage for potential risks and liabilities.
– Landlord and Tenant Act Compliance: Ensuring compliance with the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and other relevant legislation governing landlord-tenant relationships, including responsibilities related to repairs, maintenance, and service charges.
– Dispute Resolution: Handling legal disputes and litigation related to property management, including mediation, arbitration, and representing the company’s interests in court proceedings.
– Property Development and Redevelopment: Providing legal support for property development projects, including planning permissions, zoning regulations, construction contracts, and regulatory compliance throughout the development process.
– Any other special tasks as assigned by the directors.

Key requirements:
– Experience in UK law OR experience in a country with a similar legal system AND ability to research and study independently to gain the necessary experience required for the job.
– Excellent spoken and written English
– Creative, innovative and persistent when it comes to defending the business’ interests
– Attention to detail, accuracy and precision
– Positive, friendly and warm communication style, pleasant to deal with
– Independence and ability to research information and analyse findings
– Integrity, honesty and respect
– Punctuality

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (UK time). Please note: you must be contactable outside hours in case of emergencies; also, an occasional catch-up call with directors may be required on the weekend at a mutually convenient time.

Immediate start. (Please note: there will be interviews, background checks and an up to 5-day training period.)

If you are interested in this position and ready to start, please apply with your CV and a video introduction to yourself, in which you explain how you fit the key requirements above. We will then reach out with next steps.
