Job Description

Lola Financial is a rapidly growing bookkeeping firm that works with black-led nonprofit organizations and other small businesses. We support our clients by providing them with accurate and timely financials; managing their receivables, payables,
sales tax, and payroll; collaborating with their tax professionals, and educating them to ensure they understand the financial side of their business. We’re looking to hire a Lead Bookkeeper and Client Manager. This is a full-time remote position, and we want a superstar who will be with us long-term.

Position Summary

As the Lead Bookkeeper and Client Manager, you’ll be the main point of contact for our clients and be responsible for supervising our junior bookkeepers. You’ll provide guidance, training, and support to the team members while performing advanced-level bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities & Duties

Team Management:

– Lead, mentor, and train our team of bookkeepers
– Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to team members
– Coordinate work assignments and delegate tasks effectively within the team
– Monitor and review work completed by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance
– Communicate information effectively to team members and managers

Accounting Expertise:

– Utilize advanced QuickBooks Online features to manage financial records
– Perform advanced bookkeeping tasks, including complex reconciliations, payroll, journal entries, etc.
– Advanced sales tax compliance, reporting, and reconciliations
– Complex cleanup projects
– Financial statement analysis

Process Improvement:

– Identify areas for process improvement within the bookkeeping workflows and implement best practices
– Streamline bookkeeping procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Client Management:

– Establish and nurture relationships with clients
– Client onboarding and off-boarding
– Email. phone and portal communications with client
– Zoom meetings with clients to review financial statements and answer questions.

Qualifications

– At least three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles– remote public accounting experience preferred

– Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is a plus

– Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite

– Tech savviness and the ability to quickly adapt to software and tech tools is a must!

– Strong analytical skills

– Competitive salary range: $1500 – $2500 per month

– Flexible work schedule – You’ll be expected to work primarily between 9 am and 5 pm Central, but the schedule is flexible, offering you time for your and your family’s needs.
