Lead Shopify App Developer (Node.js) for Top Rated Marketplace App

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Shopify App developer interested in landing a great career job with an award winning US company. We have a highly rated Shopify app that works well but needs someone who can work on it full time to take it to the next level. We’re looking to take our already award winning apps from good to great!

Here’s what we want to do:

1. Rebuild the app from the bottom up. The current app is written using the koa framework in Click to view. We love Click to view but want to move it over to express. We’ve learned a few things along the way and want a cleaner code base that’s easier to maintain.
2. We want to catch our Shopify app up with and surpass the quality of our WordPress / Woo Commerce app. There are a variety of features we need to implement and we need to find some better ways to handle certain things within Shopify.
3. Crush the ratings and reviews and beat out competitive apps.
4. Move to the latest Shopify extensions and apis.

Think you can do that!? You will be working with a very talented and full time core product team out of the US with support personnel in other parts of the world including a heavy presence in the Philippines. We want someone who is willing to attend our daily scrums and act as part of the existing team and reporting on the Shopify work.

We have apps and plugins on multiple platforms and we’re well regarded on them all.

## Duties

• Lead Shopify design and coding through the full development lifecycle from ideation through to delivery.
• Follow development best practices from rapid proof of concept to high quality, maintainable code.
• Support product development initiatives as needed – in particular a strong focus on good coding practices that can scale and are not tough to maintain.
• Participate in scrum/agile processes.

## Requirements

• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Strong and proven expertise with Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and Click to view.
• 3+ years building Shopify Apps and Shopify Theme development
• A solid understanding of web backends including how to handle ajax requests, scalability considerations, cookies, async requests, ajax, sessions and the like.
• Ability to troubleshoot web pages to optimize for desktop and mobile devices
• Strong problem solver with the self-motivation and willingness to learn – you eat technology for breakfast.

Bonus if you’ve got any of the following:

• Familiarity with design and wireframing tools (e.g. Sketch, Figma)
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science.
• Experience with Vue or a similar front end framework like React or Angular.
• Experience as a Scrum master or project leader.
• You’ve done WordPress, Big Commerce, Drupal, Magento plugin development.
