Job Title: Legal Aid/Attorney with Experience in US Federal Asset Forfeiture Cases (Non-Litigation)
Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Legal Aid or Attorney to assist in a case involving US federal asset forfeiture. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US federal asset forfeiture laws, related legal procedures, and have prior experience in providing legal support for clients facing similar legal challenges. The candidate must be adept at managing complex cases, conducting thorough legal research, and crafting strong arguments in defense of the client’s interests. Please note that this role does not require court representation.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and analyze case materials, including court documents, legal filings, and evidence to gain a thorough understanding of the client’s situation and legal needs.
2. Develop a comprehensive legal strategy for supporting the client in the asset forfeiture case, including identifying the most relevant arguments, evidence, and legal precedent to support the client’s position.
3. Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other filings, in compliance with court rules and requirements.
4. Conduct legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations to support the client’s position and stay current with developments in US federal asset forfeiture law.
5. Communicate effectively with the client to keep them informed about the status of their case and any legal developments that may affect their interests.
6. Collaborate with other legal professionals, experts, and witnesses to strengthen the client’s case.
7. Uphold professional ethics and standards, while maintaining client confidentiality.
Requirements:
1. A minimum of 1 years of experience in handling US federal asset forfeiture cases or related practice areas, such as criminal law or civil litigation.
2. Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive legal arguments.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
4. Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and work under tight deadlines.
5. A commitment to providing high-quality legal support and advocacy for clients facing US federal asset forfeiture challenges.
6. Proficient in legal research tools and software, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
