Legal Assistant with Kimbrough Legal PLLC, Austin, TX

We’re seeking a sharp Legal Assistant for our busy law firm who can help our attorneys and paralegals assist our clients and keep the office running smoothly. You’ll work with the team to prepare a variety of legal documents, and handle office correspondence like answering emails and phone calls, scheduling meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. What Our Legal Assistants Do:
• Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals
• Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly.
• Ensure client billing is processed properly using daily time records with assistance from the accounting department.
• Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events.
• Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of upcoming deadlines.

What We Need From You:
• Associate degree in business, law or related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in law, business, or a related field (preferred).
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience doing legal administrative assistant work in the USA is required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary for this position.
• Proficient in utilizing all Microsoft Office products and knowledge of office practices and procedures to analyze documents.
• Applicants must be able to type 70 words per minute or faster.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times.
• Knowledge of legal terminology, research methods, and technique of administrative and court procedures in order to prepare necessary reports and documents.
• Skills in management of filing systems to assure accurate and rapid storage and retrieval of case documents.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to prioritize goals and work to effectively meet multiple project deadlines.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with members of the public and peers.
