We are an entrepreneurial Family Law firm that is on track for aggressive growth and we
need an experienced legal assistant to join our team and work directly with the owners and attorneys to support the team and help our clients.
Family Law problems suck! We want to be known for helping our clients solve their legal problems, so they come out of an extremely emotional process feeling as though they are a better person, in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them. We are growing fast, and we need a legal assistant who can hit the ground running.
This position will be have the following Task Matrix and responsibilities below:
DAILY:
o Review appointments and reminders on a 2-week rolling basis and ensure
o Ensure materials for appointments are ready 1-2 days prior to appointment
o Answer telephones; screen attorney calls; take messages and address calls to minimize attorney involvement with incoming calls
o Maintain calendars: schedule appointments, post tasks and deadlines, and ensure the Firm and team’s calendars are accurately maintained and organized in a logical and efficient manner
o Following up on clients. (Checking their needs, questions they may have, and providing them with case-related updates).
o Link/calendar appointments, calls, messages, correspondence in the case management system
o Interacts with the courts and administrative agencies regarding hearings, motions, and other appearances, becoming the courts’ primary point of contact with the firm for all administrative and scheduling issues
o Create contacts and update contact information in the case management or contact management system
WEEKLY:
o Review with attorney and paralegal additional projects to be accomplished and calendared
o Case and administrative filing
o Close matter files
MONTHLY:
o Assist with updates for team/case status meetings

Education & Experience
• Prior customer service experience required
• Experience with cloud-based CRM and case management systems (Preferably Clio and Lawmatics).
• Knowledge in the legal industry is an asset
• Education and/or work experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
• Spanish speaking an asset
We love to help people learn and grow. But we don’t have the time for that right now. We need a legal assistant with experience. (some Family Law experience would be a bonus). The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal handholding. This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage your own tasks, existing client questions (or where to get the answers) and support the efforts of the firm active caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 1:45 pm to 5:00 pm EST.
