A Cross Law Firm PLLC, a family law firm based out of Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant with a background in data and analytics. Our firm handles bankruptcy and family law cases , focusing on divorce and child custody cases. This small business is dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
– Utilize legal practice management software, such as Clio and Clio Grow, to manage case files, assist the legal assistant with updating the custom fields, documents, client communications, and billing processes.
– Leverage data analysis skills to optimize the use of software tools, extract insights from data, and improve firm operations.
– Assist in organizing and analyzing legal documents, including case documents, client records, and court filings.
– Track and analyze key performance metrics related to case management, client intake, and firm performance.
– Support client relationship management efforts by analyzing client data, taking notes, monitoring client interactions, and implementing client retention strategies.
– Collaborate with legal professionals and support staff to streamline processes, automate tasks, and enhance operational efficiency.
– Stay current on industry trends, technology tools, and best practices in data analytics in the legal field.
– Previous background in billing and invoicing for a business or firm is required for this role. You will be primarily responsible for all the firm billing and collection duties, as well as setting up payment plans, and determining what they should be based on the client’s individual case needs, and payment behavior.
– identifying trends and implementing change and policies to help the firm thrive financially.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as Legal Studies, Data Analytics, or a related discipline (preferred but not required).
– Prior legal experience, legal education or legal assistant role experience (required), previous legal experience preferably in a family law or related practice area (Preferred). Familiarity with the US legal system in a former role preferred.
– Strong proficiency in legal practice management software, with experience using Clio and Clio Grow being a plus.
– Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, including experience with data visualization, reporting, and interpretation. (At least 1 year required)
– Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. (required)
– Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. (required)
– Commitment to upholding high ethical standards, maintaining client confidentiality, and adhering to professional conduct guidelines.(required)
– Previous government legal or regulatory experience is highly preferred and required for the role.
– Advanced critical thinking skills and the ability to synthesize and summarize complex ideas are essential for problem-solving.(required)

Important Note: Please note that the training period is unpaid and the duration of the training is contingent upon the individual’s ability to learn and meet project milestones within the first 30 days of being hired. Once you have successfully completed the training to a satisfactory level and have notified the firm that you are ready to begin, you will be officially hired for the role. You will then receive project tasks to be completed on a day to day and weekly basis during this initial period. Your progress in task completion will be closely monitored and evaluated by the team during this time, for consideration for promotion (part-time full time, and continued future gig roles if selected)

Duration: 30 days (for this project) (gig- make your own schedule) – could become full-time, but schedule/hours would be determined on business needs.

Budget: $350 (first month after you have completed the required training)…You must complete the training in order to be hired for this project. We use trainual, to train all of our employees. Those selected for this role, will be sent the trainual invited to the training. You will be hired based on your progress with the training, once you believe you are ready to begin taking on tasks/assignments.

Possibility for Permanent or Part-Time Role: The selected candidate may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent or part-time position based on performance and mutual agreement. Part-time and possible Full-time salary of eventual hire if hired long term will be evaluated during the gig/project & temporary period.
