Job Description

We’re hiring a creative writer for our outreach team!

Role: Craft engaging, unique pitches to connect with various websites, encouraging them to feature links back to our client’s website. For a sample of our client, check out Bluetti Power (/), a leader in portable power solutions.

Why This Role Matters: Your pitches are essential in securing backlinks which are vital for our client’s SEO and visibility.

Resources: To get a quick overview of the kind of outreach we do, watch this informative 15-minute YouTube video. (/watch?v=S7qffZKgJwE)

Your Writing Should:

– Avoid generic “link builder” or overly salesy language.
– Be genuine—any compliments should be specific and well-founded.
– Be engaging and entertaining.
– Forge a connection that’s relatable and relevant to the recipient.

Approaches to Experiment With:

1. Link Exchange: Propose a mutually beneficial link swap. Offer a link from an article we’ve authored (or will author) in exchange for a link back from their site. This approach leverages value without monetary transactions.

2. Bespoke Article – Value Add: Propose 2-3 article topics that would provide significant value to the prospective website’s audience. For example, if you find an outdated article on their site about solar energy, suggest a fresh, relevant update and include a mention of our client.

Test Assignment:

Objective: Create a pitch using one of the approaches above for one of the following example websites: (Pick one of the websites, and imagine you are pitching them on behalf of Bluetti)

Greentumble (environmental conservation)
Clean Energy Authority (clean energy solutions)
Go RVing (RV lifestyle and outdoor adventures)

Key Details to Include in Your Pitch:
Introduction: Briefly introduce yourself and the purpose of your email.
Value Proposition: Clearly outline what’s in it for them. Why should they be interested in your offer?
Call to Action: Encourage a specific response, such as agreeing to host a guest article.

Reminder: Do not contact the websites directly. Instead, send your draft pitch to us for review to see if you’re a fit for the role.
