We’re looking for an Essay Critique Assistant who can work with us long-term (currently a part-time position).
***Responsibilities***
As our Essay Critique Assistant, you will provide constructive reviews that focus on content, structure, tone, citations, as well as sentence-level mechanical issues such as grammar, punctuation, etc.
Professional and capable, the Assistant will make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by helping them improve their academic, professional, and personal writing skills through providing helpful feedback on student essays.
***Qualifications & Skills***
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree holder (English Literature major a plus)
– Minimum 1 year experience in reviewing/ critiquing high school or college essays
– Consistently available to work 5-10 hours per week
– Reliable access to laptop/computer (not tablet), and speedy internet (minimum 5mbps).
Skills:
– Exceptional writing ability; perfect grammar
– Ability to work with a high level of flexibility and efficiency
– Highly process-oriented and detail-oriented
– Good at following instructions
– Ability to maturely handle constructive criticism
***Who You Are***
– You are a language and writing expert who approaches essay review as a tutor rather than as an editor
– You are self-driven, organized, detail-oriented, solve problems efficiently, and proactive
– Great time and project management skills; experience getting projects done quickly, with high-quality standards.
– Can work in the Pacific Standard Time Zone
