Job Description

We are seeking a Full-Stack Magento 2 Ecommerce Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team player with a dedication to staying abreast of new developments in the e-commerce space and the Magento community. The candidate will be responsible for expanding the company’s use of Magento, integrating with other company systems, and ensuring that security is always at the forefront of any decision.

Technical Expertise and Development:

Proficient in Magento 2 development, including custom module creation and extension customization.
Strong understanding of Magento’s code structure, extension architecture, theme hierarchy, and fallback components.
Experience with PHP and PHP-based frameworks, MySQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
Competent with Magento API (REST, SOAP) and experience in integrating with third-party applications, with the ability to extend and create new APIs as needed.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Magento’s data models and understanding of EAV and MVC architecture.
Ability to quickly learn something new. You are not expected to know it all but are expected to be able to dig in, research, and figure things out without handholding.
Not afraid to fail. Fail fast and often, break things, but fix them. Being willing to move quickly and try new things is a trait we are looking for in you.

Hyvä Theme Expertise:

Proficient in implementing and customizing the Hyvä theme for Magento 2.
Deep understanding of the Hyvä theme architecture, including its approach to less JavaScript, reduced dependency on third-party libraries (like jQuery), and use of Tailwind CSS.
Experience in building responsive, performance-optimized user interfaces using the Hyvä theme.
Familiarity with the Hyvä theme’s tooling and best practices for front-end development.
Ability to leverage the Hyvä theme’s features to create a superior shopping experience with a focus on speed and mobile-first design.
Strong troubleshooting skills are a requirement, know how to figure out what is broken, and fix it, regardless if it is in Magneto, Apache, or the supporting infrastructure.

E-commerce Solutions Implementation:

Design and develop unique, cutting-edge e-commerce solutions using Magento 2.
Configure and manage Magento’s catalog, shopping cart, checkout, and order management functionalities.
Implement and maintain payment gateway integrations and shipping, tax, and other e-commerce services.

Performance Optimization and Scalability:

Optimize website performance by configuring Magento caching, indexing, and other speed enhancement techniques.
Ensure scalability of the e-commerce platform to handle increasing traffic and transaction volumes.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

Develop and implement rigorous testing plans to ensure bug-free and efficient performance.
Continuously monitor the health of e-commerce websites, addressing and resolving any technical issues.

User Experience and Front-end Development:

Improve the front-end user experience by developing responsive themes and enhancing interface functionality.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure visual and UX/UI coherence.

Security and Compliance:

Implement security best practices to safeguard the e-commerce platform from potential threats.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

Mentor and guide junior and/or non-Magento PHP developers, sharing Magento expertise and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and customer service, to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Continuous Learning and Innovation:

Stay abreast of new trends and advancements in Magento and e-commerce technologies.
Contribute to innovation by exploring and implementing new tools and techniques.
A willingness to learn and keep up to date with the latest web technologies.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

More Information:

This is a 100% remote position
You will work as an independent contractor
We will provide your work equipment (Mac or Windows)
We offer HMO (Php 500,000 plan)
You will report to work during US hours (PST) for 3 days and 2 days can be flexible
Salary: Up to $2,700/month
