Mandarin Tutor

Job Description

We are seeking experienced and knowledgeable individuals to join our team as Mandarin Tutors. As a Mandarin Tutor, you will be responsible for assisting students in understanding and mastering basic to advanced mandarin language. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mandarin with HSK Level 4 and above. Starting hourly rate is $7/hr. Please leave a comment if you’re interested.

Job Responsibilities:

Thoroughly prepare the lesson requested by students in advance of tutorial sessions..
Develop structured lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of individual students. Create engaging and interactive learning materials to enhance understanding.
Facilitate tutorial sessions, ensuring that the lesson plan is followed effectively. Employ various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. Provide clear explanations and address any questions or concerns from the students.
Conduct knowledge checks throughout the tutorial session to gauge student comprehension.
Adjust teaching methods as needed based on student feedback and performance.
Provide at least 1 exercise that the student can practice for the next session

Qualifications:

Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
Experience in teaching Mandarin to students of various proficiency levels.
Comprehensive understanding of Mandarin grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
Proficiency in teaching Mandarin pronunciation and tones accurately.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
Ability to create engaging and customized lesson plans tailored to students’ needs and learning styles.
Proven experience in providing tutorial services, either formally or informally.
Previous experience creating effective lesson plans.
Experience with teaching materials and resources appropriate for different age groups and learning environments.
Must have at least HSK Certificate of Level 4
Must be available during US Standard Time Zone hours to accommodate the scheduling needs of students.
