Job Overview:
As a Manufacturing Sourcing Analyst – Alibaba Specialist, you will play a crucial role in identifying reliable and reputable manufacturers on Alibaba to meet our product sourcing requirements. You will be responsible for evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring the delivery of top-notch products that align with our quality standards. This role demands exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to secure the best deals and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Identification: Utilize Alibaba and other relevant platforms to identify potential manufacturers and suppliers that align with our product specifications and quality standards.
2. Supplier Vetting: Conduct comprehensive background checks and due diligence on potential suppliers, including verifying their legitimacy, credibility, and production capabilities.
3. Price Negotiation: Negotiate competitive prices, batch sizes, and favorable terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising product quality.
4. Quality Assurance: Establish stringent quality control measures for products sourced from Alibaba suppliers, ensuring they meet our standards.
5. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and resolving any issues that may arise during the production process.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier interactions, negotiations, and agreements. Provide regular reports to management on sourcing progress, supplier performance, and cost savings.
7. Product Lifecycle Management: Update our product lifecycle management database with bill of materials and quotes.
Requirements:
– In-depth knowledge of Alibaba platform functionalities and supplier verification processes.
– Proficient in using Alibaba, Wechat, and Whatsapp for business communication.
– Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product specifications, and quality control standards.
– Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings without compromising product quality.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build effective relationships with suppliers and managers.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
– Fluency in English (Mandarin is a big plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a Sourcing Analyst or similar role, with a focus on Alibaba sourcing.
– Experience working in the fashion industry.
– Proficiency in CRM tools, Notion, and Slack.
