Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our team who can put into place a decent marketing strategy for our security product business and support the managing director with marketing tasks, both operational and project work.
Our company has been around for nearly 25 years and works within the security industry in the UK. We have also been a direct B2B company but in the last few years are expanding to more online markets.
We are looking for a candidate to work long term with us as part of our team and will give priority to hard working individuals who are looking for a career.

The job will be divided into the following sections:
1.) Web Design Support (Content/Bug Testing)
2.) Social Media Marketing
3.) Email Marketing
4.) News Editing
5.) Marketing Material Preparation

1.) Web Design Support (Content/Bug Testing)
We are in the process of building several websites for our various brands. We have already launched our primary website a few years ago () and have launched our body camera website recently (). We are in the process of building a walkthrough metal detector website which should be published in the next few days and will also be making at least 2 more in the next coming months.
For web development we use a company in the UK but will need to the successful candidate to help us test bugs (no coding knowledge required, just using the site and seeing if it works) and generate content for the websites using Chat GPT and then check the work. The main sections that will need content written will be news sections and the shop product listings. Each new website will require unique text to be generated and adjusted to rank for keywords. We have extensive descriptions from our original website so it will be mainly running it through ChatGPT and then editing and adjusting.
At first you would be creating word documents which will then be used to by UK based staff to create the product listings/news articles. As the job progresses, you will be given access to our websites in order to make the postings yourself.

2.) Social Media Marketing
We have historically done very little social media marketing and are looking to put together a cohesive social media strategy. We have done some very limited posts in an ad hoc way for our different brands. We are looking for a centralised strategy with regular posts and stable audience growth.
We have a linkedin account for our news site, main business, body camera brand and have just created one for our walkthrough metal detector brand. As we launch new websites and brands, we would be looking to grow the number of linkedIN accounts. We need to grow our audience for all of them.
We would also be looking to grow/setup a presence on other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc

3.) Email marketing
We want to setup regular emails to send out to existing or potential customers. We would do this either per brand or just from our main account. We are currently using email octopus but very rarely send out emails. We just don’t have the time to put together news that would be worthwhile to send. We have a fairly large database of around 7000 contacts in the UK security industry and don’t want to waste people’s time or get unsubscriptions because we are putting out irrelevant news that won’t get us sales.

4.) News Editing
We have a security news website called which we would want the successful candidate to help us develop. Our content comes from security companies in the UK. We would like to get more news from them. We have done some basic outreach would like to do more of this. We do not charge companies to post news, only that they abide by our editorial guidelines. We would like to be able to post several articles a day. We also use as a posting channel for news about our various brands as well as relevant Top 10 lists for our products. We would like to be able to reach a point where we have a regular posting schedule for things like Editorials, Exclusives and Technology news. Industry and Company news can still be adhoc.

5.) Marketing Materials Preparation
The ideal candidate would be able to participate in the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, posters, pop-up stands, digital banners and adverts. Preference would be given to candidates who are able to use photoshop/gimp or other similar photo editing software for these purposes.
