We make it easy for higher ed communicators to engage in podcasting to inspire thoughtful discussion. The work we do involves: Strategy, Production, Marketing, and Monetization.
Marketing Strategist Goals
The vision of is to become the go-to partner helping:
Scholars share their research with confidence
Alumni and students share their individual experiences
Marketing and Communications teams share their institution’s story

The overall growth strategy is to:
Build relationships with higher ed institutions, and invest resources into the higher ed community
Grow competency across podcast services to build reputation as the preferred higher ed partner
Expand podcast distribution with , a scholars-hosted podcast network

The Marketing Strategist owns the audience development of our podcast shows. We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

Characteristics of sound business ethics, creativity, and passion for audio/podcasts
– Experience with higher education communications and podcasting operations
– An eye for design – understanding of core principles of graphic design and video editing
– An eye for detail – to work accurately under time constraints
– Deep expertise in customizing approaches dependent on social media platform
– Strong reading and writing skills, from writing captivating tweets to newsletters
– Excellent time-management and organizational skills

Job Responsibilities

Marketing Strategists are dedicated to specific shows. The purpose of the Marketing Strategist includes the following:

1. Marketing Strategy Development
a. Build a full picture of current podcast marketing strategy and iterating effectively to improve results
b. Understand how the podcast fits within the context of client’s overall communications strategy to see opportunities the podcast can complement other client initiatives

2. Social Media
a. Ownership over social media assets & strategy
b. Creation of episode artwork social copy, social cards, audiograms, and short video optimized by social media channel (using templates)
c. Manage community engagement on social media channels

3. Podcast Partnerships
a. Maintain media kits for the show
b. Proactive partnership outreach and maintaining relationships
c. Coordinating meetings with partners and arranging agreements for podcast swaps
Keeping track of host media engagements to identify opportunities for promotion

4. Other Marketing Activities
a. Paid Media Management
b. Newsletter management
c. Live-event organizing
d. Website consulting
e. Implementing SEO best practices across website, podcast, and video
f. Performance Analysis
g. Collaborate with the Analytics team to track marketing strategy performance
h. Decide what to measure and set performance targets
i. Creating podcast marketing plans informed by analytics
