Job Title: Mason Shop Drawing Drafter

Job Summary:
The Mason Shop Drawing Drafter prepares detailed and accurate shop drawings for masonry projects, ensuring that all specifications, dimensions, and materials are correctly represented. The drafter will work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to produce drawings that adhere to industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Shop Drawings:
• Develop detailed shop drawings for masonry projects including walls, veneers, columns, arches, and other masonry structures.
• Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, architectural designs, and industry standards.
Collaborate with Project Teams:
• Work with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and
• specifications.
• Communicate effectively to clarify details and resolve discrepancies in drawings.
Quality Control:
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project teams and clients.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all drawings before submission.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation.
• Update and archive drawings as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical Support:
• Provide technical support to construction teams during the installation phase.
• Assist in resolving any on-site issues related to the shop drawings.
Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Stay updated with advancements in masonry techniques, materials, and software.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting, preferably in masonry or construction-related projects.
Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software.
• Strong understanding of masonry construction techniques and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Work Environment:
• Primarily office-based with occasional visits to construction sites.
• Standard work hours with potential for overtime during peak project phases.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.
• Occasional lifting of lightweight materials and documents.
