We are looking for a talented and experienced Medical Billing and Operations Specialist to join our team and help us better understand and optimize our billing workflow from an operational perspective.

Position: Medical Billing and Operations Specialist

Job Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

Oversee the entire medical billing process, including data entry, claim submission, eligibility verification, pre-authorizations, denial management, appeals, accounts receivable follow-up, and payment posting.

Ensure compliance with various insurance regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing standards and practices.
Utilize medical billing software programs such as Athenahealth, Kareo – Go Practice, and Advanced MD (PM & EHR) efficiently.
Lead a team of medical billers, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Identify areas for process improvement within the medical billing department and implement changes that drive significant increases in productivity and efficiency.
Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for the medical billing process.
Conduct audits of the medical billing process and medical claims to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Provide exceptional customer service, resolving customer issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategies for optimizing the billing workflow and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Experience in a high ancillary billing practice (cardiology, orthopedics, dermatology,etc.) a definite plus.

Qualifications:

Over 10 years of experience in customer service and medical billing – revenue cycle management.
Strong understanding of the entire medical billing process, from data entry and claim submission to denial management and patient collections.
Proficiency in using medical billing software programs such as Athenahealth, Kareo – Go Practice, and Advanced MD (PM & EHR).
Experience in operations, quality assurance, and customer service within the medical billing field.
Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity and efficiency.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
