Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer patient phone calls and respond to patient questions.
• Book appointments using electronic scheduler.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits with patients and insurance providers.
• Guides patients with completing paperwork and informs them of the process flow, by communicating clearly with the patient regarding expectations.
• Creates, organizes, and updates all patient files by maintaining a focused approach to data entry to ensure that required information is accurate and available on a timely basis.
• Handles center correspondence by possessing the ability to convey a concise, honest and respectful message in written and verbal communications.
• Researches and resolves issues to ensure patient retention and satisfaction.
• Prepares charts for next day’s appointments, scans and enters insurance cards, and ensures accuracy of information.
• Receives patient payments, inputs into Compulink System and issues receipts.
• Obtains necessary authorizations for any medical patient.
• Maintains knowledge of company products and customer service processes.
• Utilizes EMR to communicate with referring physicians.
• Insurance and Patient billing follow up.
• Respond to patient emails and chats.
• Be a trusted confidant of the medical office team.
Overall, a receptionist plays an important role in ensuring that an organization runs smoothly and efficiently by providing excellent customer service and administrative support.
Qualifications
All qualified candidates must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in a sales/medical office environment. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in an eyecare setting. They should possess Excellent Written and Verbal Presentation, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Quality Focus, Productivity, Thoroughness, Coordination, Deadline-Oriented, Internal Communications, Reporting Skills and be proficient with standard office equipment, including personal computers and Windows-based software (including word processing, PowerPoint, databases and spreadsheets). Candidates should be able to multi task comfortably and have ability to work with a high degree of professionalism.
