As a Patient Coordinator, you will serve as a crucial link between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring a seamless and positive experience throughout the entire care journey. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate patient appointments, assist with administrative tasks, and provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction and support efficient healthcare operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Appointment Management:
•Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and accurate coordination.
•Coordinate with healthcare providers, clinics, and departments to secure necessary resources and ensure timely patient care.
•Confirm appointments with patients, provide instructions, and address any concerns or questions they may have.
•Maintain appointment calendars, update schedules, and make necessary adjustments to accommodate urgent or changing needs.

2. Patient Registration and Intake:
• Greet patients in person, over the phone, or through electronic communication channels, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
•Collect and record patient information accurately, including personal details, medical history, insurance data, and consent forms.
•Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring all required information is obtained and accurately documented.
•Educate patients about clinic policies, procedures, and any pre-visit requirements.

3. Patient Communication and Education:
•Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries, providing information, and resolving concerns promptly and courteously.
•Communicate test results, appointment changes, and other relevant information to patients in a clear and compassionate manner.
•Educate patients about their diagnoses, treatment plans, and medication instructions, ensuring they understand their care plans.
•Provide patients with appropriate educational materials and resources to support their self-care and well-being.

4. Administrative Support:
•Maintain electronic records, ensuring accuracy, organization, and adherence to confidentiality guidelines.
•Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and documentation required for billing and reimbursement processes.
•Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals to facilitate referrals, transfers, and medical records requests.
•Manage patient forms and paperwork, ensuring completion, accuracy, and proper filing.

5. Customer Service and Patient Advocacy:
•Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all patient interactions.
•proactively identify and address patient needs, concerns, and feedback, escalating issues when necessary to ensure resolution.
•Advocate for patients by facilitating communication between patients, their families, and healthcare providers.
•Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient satisfaction and improve overall care delivery processes.
Requirements:
•College diploma of medical degree or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or medical billing is a plus.
•Previous experience as a patient coordinator, medical receptionist, or in a customer service role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
•Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare operations.
•Familiarity with appointment scheduling software, electronic health record systems, and common office software (MS Office, Excel).
•Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and healthcare regulations “HIPAA”
•Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance companies.
•Proficiency in using computers, electronic health record systems, and common office software (MS Office, Excel).
