Company: Medical Procedures of Wisconsin – Private Practice Clinic Specializing in Vein Treatment, Regenerative Pain Treatment, and Minor Procedures

Location: Remote (must be available during central time hours)

Hours: 8AM-5PM Central Time, Monday-Thursday, with optional administrative tasks on Fridays

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Virtual Medical Scribe to join our dynamic team. In this remote position, your role will be to assist our medical practitioners by documenting patient interactions, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records within our EMR system – AthenaHealth.

Responsibilities:
– Observe and document patient-physician interactions and medical procedures
– Enter data and patient information into AthenaHealth EMR system
– Enter ICD-10 diagnosis codes into the medical record
– Enter CPT procedural codes into the medical record
– Maintain the patient’s problem list within the medical record
– Coordinate with the medical team to verify and clarify information
– Assist with administrative tasks when needed, particularly on Fridays with the doctor is not seeing patients
– Keep up-to-date with medical terminologies and coding systems
– Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of patients and their health information

Qualifications:
– Excellent spoken and written English
– Experience in medical transcription or a similar role is desirable
– Familiarity with medical terminologies
– Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding
– Familiarity with E&M and Procedural coding
– Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules
– Experience with AthenaHealth EMR system or other similar medical software is a plus
– Excellent typing speed and accuracy
– Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
– High-speed, reliable internet connection
