Job Description:
As a Medical Virtual Assistant at Hawaii Shoulder and Orthopedic Institute, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our Orthopedic clinic. You will work closely with our healthcare professionals to streamline processes, manage patient information, and ensure efficient communication within the clinic.

Responsibilities:

-Manage patient records and electronic medical documentation accurately and securely.
-Schedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, and assist in coordinating consultations.
-Maintain and update patient databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA).
-Answer patient inquiries via phone, email, and virtual communication platforms in a friendly and professional manner.
-Assist in billing and insurance-related tasks, including verification and submission of claims.
-Coordinate and manage virtual meetings, telehealth appointments, and video conferences.
-Collaborate with the clinical team to prepare and organize medical reports and documentation.
-Perform general administrative tasks, such as calendar management, document preparation, and data entry.

Qualifications:

-Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a healthcare administrative role is preferred.
Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations is a plus.
-Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and virtual communication tools.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical professionals.
-Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
