Hours: 9 am to 5 pm (Pacific Standard Time)

Hourly Rate: $4.00 USD per hour + annual bonus (based on performance)

Benefit: 1 month PTO, but required to work 40 hours a week between the Open Enrollment dates: October 1st – December 15th every year

Start Date: ASAP

Job Description

I am seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join my team as a Medicare/ Health Insurance Agent’s Virtual Assistant. The successful candidate will provide virtual support to me & my Medicare agents in plan research to offer suitable plans to potential new clients, as well as, assisting our current clients (mainly seniors over age 65) in utilizing their Medicare or health insurance plans benefits.

Job Responsibilities

Educate clients on the basics of Medicare, help to solve customer problems such as resolving bills, getting referrals approved, etc.
Arrange services for customers: booking doctor’s appointments & transportation, searching for dentists and optometrists in the area that accepts their insurance
Take as much time needed to listen to clients’ complaints in a calm manner and be able to empathize with them; speak in a polite, sweet and energetic manner; never talk over clients
Call doctor’s offices to check what insurance they accept
Calling insurance companies to check the status of submitted applications
Track agent commission statements to make sure insurance companies have paid out to agents, etc.

Key Skills & Experience

Access to a quiet and reliable home office setup, including a desktop/laptop computer, headset, webcam, and internet connection
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Proficient in using computers and common office software, including Google Suites; Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, etc.
Quick learner; able to absorb and retain information well; be able to learn basic knowledge of Medicare/ health insurance policies and procedures
Ability to be resourceful when there is limited information and use critical thinking to come up with solutions

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
