We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Merchandise Planner. Reporting directly to the CEO. You will collaborate with various teams including the Design Team, Manufacturing, and execute merchandise plans that optimise sales, margins, and overall profitability for our company. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.
This role is full-time of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AU) and may be subject to work overtime on a need basis. The work location will either be in an office-based factory environment based in Angeles City, Philippines or remotely from home.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Merchandise Planner, you will:
1. Develop comprehensive merchandise plans aligned with company objectives.
2. Collaborate closely with the Design Team to align merchandise plans with product design and development strategies.
3. Utilise historical data, market trends, and customer insights to forecast demand and inventory needs accurately.
4. Assist in budgeting processes by providing input and recommendations based on merchandise plans and sales forecasts.
5. Coordinate with Manufacture Management to establish critical paths for production scheduling, ensuring timely delivery and minimising stock holding costs.
6. Implement strategies to increase stock turnover rates and minimise excess inventory through efficient planning and forecasting.
7. Monitor key performance indicators related to merchandise planning and inventory management to identify areas for improvement.
8. Maintain open communication channels with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and seamless execution of merchandise plans.
9. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements within the merchandise planning function.
10. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices related to merchandise planning and inventory management.
Skills, Abilities, and Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Analytics or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Previous 3-5 years of work experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or related roles within the retail industry (preferably e-commerce retail).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, inventory management software, and other relevant tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
