Next.js – Fontend Developer with Tailwind experience

I run a web development agency creating sites for small and local businesses in the Pacific Northwest. My agency is a little bit different than most, as I build all my websites in Click to view (and not Wrodpress/Wix/GoDaddy etc.) so I can fine-tune the performance of them so Google ranks them higher over time. These are small players and we wont be building any kind of major full stack applications; Its pretty light front end work.

I currently have a template that I work from for every website that I will be providing to you that already has basic navigation implemented that pulls site links from a configuration file. The navigation is complete with sticky behavior and has an optional info banner at the top, and it is formatted for mobile. It also comes with a basic hero section with Next Image implemented for the background for extra performance as well. Really, the hard part of the development and set up is always done, I just need the busy work of building out the Tailwind side of things for the body of the site.

The UI framework that I use is Shadcn which is built on top of Radix – familiarity with this would be a huge plus.

I will provide the design file to you in Figma which I will work on with the client, and you will need to code up the front end of the website – there wont be any interacting with clients at this stage, it will just be me. There is little to no backend development, and the API endpoint for the mailer with SendGrid is basically already integrated for the contact form(s) and I can tweak it as necessary myself when we are putting the final touches on things – no big deal.

I’m looking for someone who could develop a 5-10 page website from a Figma file given these parameters for about $500 per site assuming $16/hour for about 30 hours of dev time which should be ample. Its all front end work and I can usually take care of these myself in about 3 days after design is done.

I’m looking for someone who is pretty ambitious and wants to grow and hopefully own their own business at some point. Entrepreneurship in your history would be a HUGE plus.

If all goes well and we can establish a good partnership, this could probably develop into a full time position where I would just keep you on salary and feed you consistent websites to build and update. I would estimate this would be paid at something like $2,800 / month with room for bonuses on top and opportunities to lead dev teams in the future as I build this out.
