Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist with advanced proficiency in OfficeAlly and Excel. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling medical billing tasks and ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims. Strong communication skills, familiarity with US Pacific Time hours, a reliable internet connection, and access to a desktop or laptop computer are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Utilize OfficeAlly and Excel to process medical billing tasks efficiently and accurately.
Review and verify medical billing data, including patient information, codes, and charges, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and follow up on any rejected or denied claims.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, including coordinating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients as necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing activities, payments, and adjustments.
Stay updated on the latest billing codes, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and accurate billing.
Collaborate with the billing team to improve billing processes and resolve complex billing issues.
Provide exceptional customer service and promptly respond to inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing matters.
Meet productivity and accuracy targets set by the organization.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
Advanced proficiency in OfficeAlly and Excel.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain billing procedures and resolve issues effectively.
Familiarity with US Pacific Time hours to ensure availability during business hours.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing billing information.
Knowledge of medical billing codes (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and understanding of insurance claim filing requirements.
Ability to navigate and utilize various software systems and electronic health records (EHR) for billing purposes.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
Reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer for remote work.
