We are currently seeking an experienced Australian Accountant to join our friendly team. This is a permanent work-from-home position, with a great salary + benefits and work/life balance.

Required experience: 3+ years of Australian Public Accounting

Training: Training provided and potential for career growth available

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm PH time

Equipment: New equipment supplied

Location: Permanent work-from-home

Reporting to: Client Manager who will help mentor you / review your work

About you

To be considered for this role you will need a sound understanding of accounting with 3+ years senior experience within the Australian Markets, ideally insurance-related.

You can prioritise deadlines and be prepared to step in and assist with ad-hoc requests from stakeholders as required. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and have a passion for attention to detail. Prior Xero experience is preferable but not essential.

Most importantly, we are seeking a motivated individual who enjoys contributing to business performance and identifies with a strong team culture.

Duties / Responsibilities

Management of trust accounts including:

Creation of invoices
Development and maintenance of monthly bordereaus
Reconciliation of receipts
Calculation and processing of payments
Processing of payments
Processing of all tax payments monthly and quarterly
Assistance with end-of-year financial statements preparation.
Perform month-end processes and GL reconciliations.
Develop monthly reports for Directors and consultants.
Management of debtors including reporting and following up on outstanding payments
Ensure all BAS are completed by deadlines and are accurate.
Assistance with the group’s internal and external audit processes.
Assistance with compliance processes.
Ad hoc project works and process improvements.
Performance Appraisals:

You will have a 6-month performance review, identifying your strengths and areas for improvement. Salary will be formally reviewed annually along with the opportunity for you to provide feedback to improve your position and the firm.
