ChitchatPal is a starting, innovative online language learning platform connecting English learners with experienced and engaging teachers looking to improve their conversational English through practice in a comfortable, fun space supporting both calls/video calls and messaging sessions. We understand that progress is limited when learning a new language without real conversations. We believe in crossing the uncomfortable barrier of starting to speak and practice your English in a comfortable, safe way.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified English Conversation Teacher to help us create and manage our learning flows and teaching team entirely from scratch. As an English Conversation Teacher, you will bring our starting processes to the table and entirely build and create a functional learning flow for our clients. You will also play a crucial role in helping learners practice and improve their spoken English skills through informal, casual, everyday conversations. You will lead our students in their first contact with our company through messaging and be responsible for creating tailor-made progressive learning plans and content according to each student. Additionally, you will support learners in developing their writing and reading skills through our messaging platform.

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Conduct and precisely deliver engaging and dynamic lessons for one-on-one conversational English sessions through phone/video calls and messaging to help learners practice and improve their English according to their needs.
-Incorporate a functional learning flow from beginning to end (lessons, first contact with the student, student learning journey, involvement in recruitment, etc). Stay updated on language learning trends and constantly incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
-You will be in charge of the first contact with the customers, which means you will immediately have to introduce them to the learning flow and provide full guidance on our service, adapting their needs to our services.
-Support learners in developing writing and reading skills through messaging
-Create a fun, positive, and encouraging learning environment for students of various proficiency levels.
-Tailor teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles according to their lifestyles.
-Foster cultural awareness, respect, and sensitivity in language learning interactions (goes without saying)

Qualifications

Must have:

-Full proficiency in the English language (near-native or native level)
-Unfalible Internet connection (generator, backup, and good internet speed (20 Mbps minimum)
-Bachelor’s degree in English or Education, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, IELTS, or related field.
-Minimum 1-year experience in online Teaching, specifically in conversational English (both through video call and texting)
-Proficiency in Google Workspace.
-Strong administrative skills and flexibility specifically for scheduling to accommodate learners in different timezones
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Cultural sensitivity, awareness, patience, and encouragement in guiding language learners
-A tremendously engaging positive attitude, friendly personality, people person, and the will to learn and take part in something new and exciting
-Flexibility and adaptability to change: you will expected to take on new, different tasks as the company grows

Schedule:

It is essential to mention that these times are tentative to start and will change based on the local audience’s availability and preferences.

Philippines time zone – Sunday to Thursday, 8 hours per day, plus Friday, 4 hours in the following times:

-Sunday to Thursday from 02:00 PM – 06:00 PM and then from 11:00 PM to 03:00 AM
-Friday from 02:00 PM – 06:00 PM
Total hours per week: 44 hours
