Our client is an Australian importer and distributor of high-quality garden art, operating for 40 years. Their customers are located throughout Australia and include garden centers, nurseries, gift shops, and online retailers. They source goods from around the world, so they always offer the most up-to-date designs. We pride ourselves on a happy and positive work environment where we have fun as well as getting the job done.
Permanent, Remote, Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9 am – 6 pm AEST.

The Role
We’re looking for someone who enjoys sales and account management and when required, working with the team to process orders and respond to customer queries.
You will report directly to the business owner.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the new customer chase and has a strong history of identifying and winning new customers. Most importantly, we’re a well-known, established brand with a reputation for excellent customer service and high-quality products. Your role is to ensure we understand when our customers will be ready to buy and that we’re front of mind when they do.
As one of the leaders in customer-facing aspects of the business, you will also respond to customer queries and lead account management initiatives that support customers across Australia. Account management is an important part of this role so you will receive a bonus when the business achieves its monthly sales target.
You will have national responsibility so you will utilise our digital marketing tools to create special offers and sales initiatives that are emailed to our customers throughout Australia.
If required in busy times you will also assist with tasks including processing orders from input to dispatch, customer support and inquiries, processing payments, and liaising with freight providers.

The Person
You are a team player who understands the importance of winning new customers and has a strong history of success in a new business sales role.
You’re a confident person who can work independently and within the team. Someone who has great attention to detail and can manage multiple responsibilities at the same time. You have experience working for a small business in a customer-facing sales role and understand that success depends on your ability to complete tasks effectively. You are comfortable talking to customers by phone and can build a business relationship with them. You have a flexible approach to your role and are happy to assist other team members as required.
You have good computer skills and excellent written and oral communication. You have an excellent phone manner and enjoy customer interactions.
To be successful in this role, you’ll learn about our industry and our products, so you can assist customers by email, phone, or face-to-face.

Responsibilities
This outbound phone sales role requires you to work collaboratively with your customers, building trust and helping them choose products that are right for their business.
• Sales activities include:
o Phone-based lead generation and interaction with customers
o Generating new leads by identifying garden centers and gift shops that don’t currently purchase from us.
o Building relationships with new customers
o Build relationships with industry groups.
o Creating electronic direct mail (EDM) promotions
o Calling customers to build a sales pipeline
o Answering phone and email queries
o Managing customers and sales opportunities in our CRM

• Administration responsibilities are not a large component of the role. They include contributing to activities such as:
o Front-line customer service, by phone and email
o Processing orders from input to dispatch, including liaising with the warehouse team.
o Booking deliveries, obtaining quotes, and validating invoices
o Processing account applications from new customers
o Processing credit card payments

Experience and qualifications
• Experience in a small business environment
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role
• Experience in an outbound phone-based sales role
• Proven ability to work autonomously and in a small team.
• Excellent coordination and time management skills, with the ability to meet multiple and conflicting deadlines.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities.
