Job Description

Works closely with Staff, and Clients to facilitate the completion of all components of accounting engagements. Including oversight and P&L responsibility for the outsourced accounting department and its team members. The Director is responsible for overseeing all outsourced accounting work, reviewing work papers, completing compilations, interfacing with client executives, participating in accounting financial statement and advisory presentations to clients, providing the final accounting documents to clients for distribution and driving forward firm strategic initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
– Manage all Outsourced Accounting Operations for efficiency and profitability
– Review all monthly compilations and financial reports
– Review fixed asset and depreciation calculations
– Provide Price Engagement Letter and Proposals
– Review and oversee accounting work to ensure timely and quality delivery of engagements.
– Manages Outsourced Accounting Client Billing
– Enforcement of Billing Policy
– Manages Accounting Department Budgets/Realization/Deadlines
– Utilize Project Management tools daily to monitor project status is current
– Conduct weekly accounting meetings
– Attend weekly management meetings
– Work with Dept. Heads to ensure deadlines are met
– Schedule client meetings, agenda and manage report due dates.
– Act as client manager, collaborating with other client service teams to provide delivery of all services outlined in the firm’s engagement letter and proposal submitted to the client.
– Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Mentor, supervise, and train accounting staff
– Address client and staff questions and concerns in a timely matter
– Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
– Leverage technology to create more efficient processes and enhance staff productivity
– Incorporate forward looking technology solutions to daily work effort
– Perform as technical expert for Accounting and GAAP questions raised by staff and clients
– Leverages resources to achieve maximum profitability
– Scopes, plans and manages assignments for maximum profitability
– Takes a strategic view of consulting work.
– Reviews and confirms assignment objectives scope and work plan with the client.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
– Develops assignment budgets and monitors realization, utilization, and accounts receivable progress.
– Total chargeable hours goal of 1350 hours.
– Total people development hours of 250 hours.
– Able to lead projects – agree timeline for deliverables and deliver quality, on time and within budget.

Education and Experience:
– Must have 5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting firms
– Must have 2 years of relevant work experience as a Controller or CFO
– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Management
– CPA desirable, but not required
– Computer Skills required: Expert Level experience in multiple Accounting Software platforms (QuickBooks or similar) and Excel is a must
Required Abilities and Skills:
– Excellent verbal and written communications skills
– Must have extensive experience in multi-state Sales tax, BPOL and Personal Property Tax Returns
– Has excellent consulting skills – develops an understanding of client businesses and uses the knowledge to help diagnose needs/opportunities and suggest solutions.
– Should be familiar with industries such as Government Contracting, Not-for-Profits, and General Business
– Experience with , Deltek, Procas and/or other accounting systems, is a plus
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
– Strong organizational and detailed skills
