Duties and Responsibilities

Creative Responsibilities–

Concept Development
Develop innovative and aesthetically pleasing packaging concepts that align with brand identity and market trends.
Create mood boards, sketches, and prototypes to convey design ideas.
Brand Consistency
Ensure packaging designs are consistent with the brand’s visual language and values.
Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to maintain a cohesive brand image.
Design Execution
Create detailed design layouts and production-ready files using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Oversee the selection of materials, colors, and finishes that enhance the product’s appeal.
Strategic Responsibilities–

Market Research
Conduct market research to understand consumer preferences, competitive products, and emerging trends in the beauty industry.
Use insights to inform and inspire packaging designs.
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to source materials and manage production timelines.
Innovation and Sustainability
Stay updated with advancements in packaging technologies and materials, particularly sustainable and eco-friendly options.
Integrate innovative and sustainable solutions into packaging designs to meet environmental and regulatory standards.
Technical Responsibilities–

Technical Specifications
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for packaging components.
Ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and compliant with industry regulations.
Quality Control
Oversee the production process to ensure the final product meets quality standards and design intent.
Conduct packaging testing and troubleshooting to resolve any issues that arise during production.
Project Management
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Communication Responsibilities–

Presentations
Present design concepts and progress updates to internal stakeholders and upper management.
Prepare compelling presentations that effectively communicate design rationale and strategic thinking.
Feedback Integration
Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into design revisions.
Maintain an open and constructive dialogue with team members and clients throughout the design process.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree: In graphic design, industrial design, packaging design, or a related field.
5-10 years’ experience in packaging design, preferably in the beauty industry.
Strong portfolio showcasing successful packaging designs.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; strong aesthetics, color theory, typography, and composition.
Knowledge of packaging materials, printing processes, and production techniques; ability to create detailed technical drawings.
Project Management: Organizational skills to manage multiple projects; familiarity with project management tools.
Market Awareness: Understanding of beauty industry trends and consumer preferences; ability to apply market research.
Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present design concepts clearly.
Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving abilities.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and quality in design work
