Job Description

5K (formerly Conklin Media) is a fast-growing digital agency that helps companies across North America to grow using highly defined and profit focused digital marketing strategies. These strategies often include creating paid traffic campaigns that send traffic from social media and search engines to assets designed by our team.

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Paid Media Specialist who is not only able to flawlessly build and manage paid campaigns in Google, Meta, and other platforms, but is also able to see the “business growth vision” behind every action we take. This involves not only crafting well optimized paid campaigns but also creating and A-B testing conversion optimized landing pages, creating and testing static and video ad creatives, and analyzing data to determine the success of a campaign based on profitability and business growth (beyond CPC, CTR, and even lead conversion rate).

This position is full time, approximately 40 hours per week at an average of 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday. You will ideally work either 8AM-4PM or 9AM-5PM EST each day. Alternatively, we require the individual in this role to match at least 5 of your 8 working hours with our team’s core hours which are 8AM-3PM (Eastern Standard Time, EST). For example, the earliest shift you could choose would be 5AM-1PM EST, and the latest shift you could choose would be 10AM-6PM EST, or you could choose any shift range in between as long as you work 8 total hours.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
When a new client is brought on board, or when a new project is sold to an existing client, a growth strategist will relay the client’s goals and objectives of the campaign to you, as well as the overall campaign strategy. You will then create campaigns, write ad copy, build landing pages, etc, to accomplish the goals and objectives outlined during the hand-off.

Then on a monthly basis, you will be in charge of optimizing specific campaigns to make them perform better, using proven methods to help clients meet their business growth objectives through paid ad campaigns.

While there are internal standards and practices that you will be expected to follow, you will ultimately need to think outside the box at times to find solutions to problems you face during a campaign setup or during campaign optimization.

An example of work you may do during a campaign setup will typically include:

– Write ad copy that addresses the target audience and “sucks them in,” compelling them to take the next action (clicking, calling, etc).
– Using templates provided, design ad creatives that are on-brand and on-message. High-end graphic design skills are not required, but you must be able to assess what looks good and what doesn’t, and know how to make tweaks to make it look good.
– Using templates provided, build a landing page that uses CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) best practices to convert visitors into leads or sales.
– Use Zapier or a similar tool to set up lead delivery notifications so that the client gets notified as soon as a lead is generated.
– Using resources and templates provided, build a lead quality feedback delivery system to help optimize ad campaigns (we typically use ClickMagick combined with a Google Sheets template)
– Build a campaign (or campaigns) in Google Ads, Meta Ads, or another ad platform that targets the intended audience, integrates the ad copy and creatives you created, and drives visitors to the landing page you built.
– Use Google Tag Manager to set up lead conversion tracking so that conversions are tracked in Google Analytics and in the originating ad platform (Google Ads, Met Ads, etc)

Throughout this process, you will have support from other growth strategists or fellow paid media specialists. So you will not be alone, but you are expected to push yourself to think independently when needed.

WHO YOU’LL BE WORKING WITH
Our team is made up of experienced business growth strategists, copywriters, SEO specialists, campaign managers, and more. We’ve been doing this successfully for years.

Day-to-day, you will be working directly with our paid ads management team.

QUALIFICATIONS
We need someone with tactical experience building and managing paid ad campaigns, ideally at least 1 year of experience.

We are looking for someone who meets as much of the following criteria as possible:
– Has a deep knowledge and understanding of how to set up and manage complicated ad campaigns in Google Ads, Meta Ads, and/or other ad platforms.
– Has experience using split testing platforms such as VWO, Google Optimize or others.
– Has experience using user behavior analysis tools like Microsoft Clarity, HotJar, Google Analytics, etc.
– Has experience creating and updating high-converting landing pages.
– Has a willingness to understand the types of customers a business is looking to acquire and generate strategies, audiences, and keyword campaigns, and landing pages that help to facilitate that goal. Many times these businesses will have products, services, and models you have never heard of.
– Enjoys data mining, analytics, and spreadsheets!
– Is able to look at results from a campaign that is running, crunch the numbers, and determine what needs to be optimized next and why.
– Comfortable with multitasking and working on many projects at once, switching gears regularly.
– Has a desire to collaborate with other experts on the team.
– Possesses an amazing attention to detail.
– Is a creative problem solver, possesses a strong self-confidence, and has a natural ability to work under pressure.
– Has a strong desire to learn and get better. You’ll be responsible for self educating on new strategies, new platforms, etc.
– Be passionate about and have a desire and capability to successfully make decisions independently and confidently.
