Job Description

The Paralegal will provide essential support to the legal team by conducting research, preparing legal documents, and maintaining and organizing files. The candidate will be expected to communicate with clients and other entities on behalf of attorneys and ensure the efficient management of legal procedures and tasks.

Responsibilities

1. Legal Research and Documentation: Conduct extensive legal research and assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.

2. Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, track important deadlines, and ensure that all case-related documents are easily accessible to attorneys.

3. Client Communication: Act as a point of contact, updating clients on case progress, scheduling meetings, and gathering necessary information.

4. Court and Administrative Preparation: Assist in preparing materials for court hearings or administrative proceedings, including filing and serving documents as required.

5. Discovery Management: Organize and review documents for discovery, draft discovery requests and responses, and coordinate with opposing counsel.

6. Legal Procedures: Stay updated with legal regulations and industry trends, ensuring that the firm’s practices remain compliant.

7. Administrative Support: Draft and proofread correspondence, organize legal resources, and handle other routine administrative tasks as assigned.

8. Document Review: Assist in reviewing legal documents for accuracy and completeness.

9. Legal Database Management: Maintain and update legal databases and repositories.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Paralegal certification may be required depending on the jurisdiction.

Experience: Previous experience as a paralegal or in a legal assistant role is preferred.

Skills: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency with legal research tools and software.

Attributes: Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, ability to multitask, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
