About Us: Swim Up Hill Foundation is a dynamic nonprofit organization specializing in teaching children, youth, and adults to learn how to swim. Our mission is to teach one million people annually how to swim through the Swim Up Hill method, an innovative, accessible, and rapid swim-education program that empowers individuals, prevents drowning, and promotes equity in marginalized communities.

Job Description: We are seeking enthusiastic entry-level grant writers to join our team on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition into full-time independent contractors. This role is ideal for individuals eager to develop their grant writing skills and work with advanced writing AI tools like ChatGPT.
The successful candidate will partner with the Grants Department Head to identify relevant grant opportunities across multiple databases. They will meticulously research grant prerequisites, determine the grants for which proposals should be crafted, and proficiently draft grant proposals to secure funding for our life-saving swimming programs.
The Swim Up Hill Foundation leverages cutting-edge technology, including ChatGPT, to enhance our grant-writing processes. Our team is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize ChatGPT and other tools to assist in grant writing tasks.
• Meticulous attention to detail plays a crucial role in this position.
• Undergo training to understand our industry, business model, and the specific nature of the grants appropriate to the Swim Up Hill Foundation.
• Apply both creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems and enhance ChatGPT inputs/outputs, resulting in the development of grant proposals that effectively secure grant funding.
• Collaborate with team members on grant writing projects.
• Continuously improve writing and technical skills related to grant writing and AI tools.
• Regularly participate in meetings with the Grants Department Head for the purpose of training, discussing work assignments, and responding to questions and concerns.
Requirements:
• Exhibits strong mastery of English writing and speaking skills.
• Demonstrated creativity and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, specifically AI-based tools like ChatGPT.
• Eagerness to receive and apply industry-specific training.
• No prior experience in grant writing is necessary; ongoing training will be provided.
