Virtual Rockstar is seeking a part-time Insurance Verification and Authorization Specialist to join our client’s dynamic Physical Therapy practice in Tennessee. Our client’s team is committed to innovative growth through clinical education, professional development, and specialized patient care. They prioritize positivity, caring guidance, and collaborative teamwork among their therapists and staff, fostering a supportive environment for patient recovery.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth operations by verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorizations for procedures, updating patient files with insurance information, and managing insurance claims.

Responsibilities:
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments.
Obtain pre-authorizations for medical procedures as required by insurance providers.
Update and maintain accurate patient files with current insurance information.
Track and follow up on the status of pending insurance claims.
Post payments to patient accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
Generate billing reports for management review.
Prepare and send invoices to patients and insurance companies as needed.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Insurance Verification Specialist, or similar role.
Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance procedures, and billing practices.
Proficiency in using Empower EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system and Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
