Stratus Financial, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Part-Time Legal Assistant with a Juris Doctor degree to join our company. This position will play a critical role in supporting our legal operations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in legal research, contract review, and regulatory compliance within the financial sector.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal documents including contracts, loan agreements, and service agreements.
• Provide legal and administrative support to our legal counsel in handling complex financial transactions and compliance issues.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis pertaining to US finance law, CFPB regulations, and other relevant legal frameworks.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and case files, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
• Manage communication with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met.
• Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and advise the team on compliance strategies.

Skills:

• Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, with a preference for those who are licensed attorneys.
• Previous experience in a legal support role within a financial services firm or similar environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations, contract law, and corporate governance.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Work Hours:
20 hours per week required
