Part-time Online School Counselor

The Brilliant MicroSchool, an accredited virtual K-12 school, is excited to invite applications for the role of a Part-time Online School Counselor. Your Role in our Brilliant Team:

As our School Counselor, you won’t be going solo on this journey. You’ll have a supportive crew backing you up every step of the way. You’ll be driving the implementation of our tiered support system, but rest assured, you won’t be designing everything from scratch. Here’s a peek at what you’ll be doing:

Navigate the Map of Students’ Mental Health: Using a variety of resources like registration forms, teacher inputs, and questionnaires, you’ll help keep tabs on the mental well-being of our students.

Host Mini-Lessons: Organize and present monthly group mini-lessons to our students and parents. Topics? Oh, they are as fun and relevant as coping skills, anger management, social skills, and conflict resolution.

Hold a Weekly Office Hour: An open door (or screen) where students can connect, discuss, and find the support they need.

Guide our Teachers and Parents: Evaluate high-risk students and provide valuable guidance to teachers and parents via email. You’re the one with the compass, pointing us towards the best ways to support our students.

Monitor Progress: Keep an eye on student progress and report your findings to school teachers and administration using psychometric tests. You’re our in-house detective, uncovering the stories behind the numbers.

Pen Weekly Emails: Write short but engaging weekly emails to parents, filled with tips and insights. Think of it as a helpful nudge, keeping our parents connected and informed.

Finally, we may be able to offer private counseling sessions to our students as well.

Our Ideal Candidate:
