Part-time Video Editor for Core Messaging Consultant

You will be editing my videos internally but also do one-off projects for some of my VIP coaching clients from time to time (mostly creating speaker reels). This is a part-time role with the possibility of becoming full-time in the long run. Right now, we’re looking for an experienced video editor for 20 hours/week to:

1. Edit 1-2 simple talking head videos per week (average length 4-10 min);
2. Create micro content for social media from those videos (YT shorts, Insta reels, LinkedIn videos with captions, etc)
3. Edit and publish audio-only podcast episodes (minimal editing, we record live-to-tape)

Requirements:
– Utilize Click to view or similar for notes & revision (we pay for this)
– Edit 4k footage and export in 1080p
– Process audio with basic noise reduction, EQ, and compression
– Level normalize final files to specific LUFS settings
– Add graphics, overlays, stock footage, music (you must have your own access to stock libraries, we do not pay for this)
– Upload directly to my YT account
– Create thumbnails
– 2 day max turnaround per video (except for large projects like speaker reels)
– Have a keen sense of storytelling since I don’t normally give storyboards. (This is especially true for projects without a fixed script. Sometimes I just give a prompt and suggestions for what old footage could be stitched together) (we will also provide storytelling training to help with this aspect)
– Should understand when and how to build tension and release it, and know when and how to emphasize certain points. (The flow of the video should be coordinated with their chosen music as well.)

Here are some other things that would give you a huge advantage:

For Podcast editing:
– Audio editing experience with a DAW for podcast.
– Have a good ear to balance levels and automate volume, as well as how to use effects/plugins such as EQ, compression, noise reduction/gate, de-esser, etc.
– How to asses what each track (of different microphone/audio set-ups) needs instead of relying on a single template for everyone all the time.
– How to generate audiograms for podcast.

For general video editing:
– Have or are willing to invest in) your own library of modern and trendy titles, transitions, effects, templates, etc. outside of the stock assets that video editing softwares usually come with. Examples would be assets from Motion Array, Envato Elements, or any similar video asset library.
– How to repurpose long-form content (more formal) to short-form content (vertical orientation, fast-paced, with more freedom to get creative with captions and overlays) and how these 2 editing styles can be different depending on the type of content.

– Responsive & fast
– Has original creative ideas and not afraid to share them
– Super attention to detail (the little things matter to me)

Salary: $750 USD per month, paid bi-weekly (subject to raise within 3 months depending on quality of work)

** You get paid whether I have a project for you that week or not. I pay you to be accessible in case I need you, not to fill the time.
