Job Description

Reports to :Financial Controller

Role Purpose :
To provide Payroll support to Company employees through efficient processing of payruns including payroll deductions and employee benefits in accordance with set fortnightly and monthly timeframes.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Set up of new Employees into Payroll System (ELMO). Including Superannuation, banking, tax and pay rates, leave, allowances, division and department details · Coordinate the fortnightly, monthly, Australian and New Zealand Payrolls · PAYG Calculations and payments · Coordinate employee Superannuation · Coordinate Payroll Tax – NSW, QLD, VIC, WA · Single Touch Payroll · Coordinate Workers Compensation – finance/payroll side only · Coordinate and monitor leave accruals · Updating and maintaining employee information in Payroll system (ELMO) · Post payroll journals · Uploading of wages to bank · Maintain Payroll Teams files · EOFY Payroll Reconciliations · Employee and Management queries and problem solving. · Responsible for the upkeep of the Payroll Manual. · Raise QSE for any HR/Payroll system issues · Calculate Termination payments and complete Final Pay letter · Other duties as directed by the Financial Accountant.

Functional competencies:

Mandatory Skills: · Australian payroll experience · End to end processing of payruns – fortnightly and monthly · Processing payroll deductions and benefits · Organised records management · An ability to respond to quick changing demands · General accounting experience, ability to support other team members as needed. · Participate in relevant quality improvement activities and projects Attributes: · High attention to detail · Great organisational skills · Excellent communication skills · A friendly, supportive manner with all employees

·Strong self-organisation and planning skills · Ability to manage a workload to tight deadlines · Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities and projects. Desirable: · End to end payroll experience · Accounts experience · Experience using IT tools to support HR (KeyPay and Dynamics experience highly valued)

Criteria and Metrics Mandatory · Employees paid on time, every time · Employee Deductions calculated appropriately · Swift coordination of payroll requests · Professional communication with managers and employees Measured (MKPI) · Timely and accurate payroll, benefits and deductions · Maintain documentation of payroll processes so that they can be consistently applied and can be handed over to other staff in absence

Decision Making

Authority Decisions Expected: · All decisions associated with day to day operations within your area of influence · This position requires the incumbent to exercise initiative and the ability to recognize problems and opportunities and take appropriate action. · Keeps the P&C Manager informed on matters of importance. Recommendations Expected: · Appropriate course of action for any “out of the ordinary” situation. Documents Authorised to Approve · Timesheets Direct Authority: · Level 2 – Authorities Matrix delegation.
