Preface:
We are a digital publishing company.

We create a large amount of content across a broad range of verticals on a daily basis.

Our top verticals are: cooking, health, entertainment & automotive.

We’re looking for a creative designer to be in-charge or sourcing and editing stock photos and AI generated images to accompany our articles.

Our typical image workflow is as follows:
1. Summarise a paragraph of text (typically between 50 to 100 words) into a 3 or 4 word search phrase to be used on a stock photo website.
2. Search free stock photo websites for a suitable image (freepik, unsplash, pixabay)
3. If no suitable image is found, attempt to generate an image using AI
4. If AI image output is not acceptable, search premium stock photo websites for a suitable image (istockphoto, depositphotos)
5. Attempt to spin a new image from a premium image
6. If AI image output is still not acceptable, purchase the stock image.
7. Add a watermark to the image.

Job description:
You will be in-charge of creative direction for an article: sourcing and adding appropriate, relevant and engaging images to articles.
Editing images where necessary (for example is AI output is almost acceptable but needs tweaking). For example: we need an image of macaroni cheese in a freezer. We have an image of a freezer and an image of macaroni cheese. We need to remove the background of the macaroni cheese image and add it to the freezer image.

Requirements:
You are a fluent English speaker: this is important because you will need to be able to read and understand the content for which you’re sourcing images. In-particular some content is nuanced and being able to identify and understand these nuances is crucial.
You have access to Adobe Photoshop.
You have experience or qualifications related to a creative field; creativity is your speciality.
You have an innate attention to detail.
You are able to attend a daily 5 minute call, Monday to Friday

Additional information:
We will provide a detailed standard operating procedure for each of the steps.
We will provide access to the appropriate stock photos required for a project. Full tools will be provided after a probationary period.

The interview:
Successful candidates will be expected to complete a test image workflow for one article and attend a Google Meet interview.
