Job Description

Overview

We are a busy photography studio based in Ireland, specialising in fun, documentary wedding photography for discerning couples. In 2023 we will shoot approx 40 weddings and we are looking to expand to 60 + weddings per year from 2024.

We are seeking to outsource the culling and editing of images along with the production of slideshows and galleries for each wedding.

Background

Our studio has been in operation since 2011 and we currently have one lead photographer and one additional associate photographer.

We are looking to expand by outsourcing image editing and associated work.

Ideally, this will be a long term appointment, providing consistent quality editing for the studio and rewarding and regular work for the editor for years to come. We are looking to appoint a editor by mid July 2023. Our studio will have work immediately available with eight weddings ready for editing by the end of July.

Experience and Minimum Technical Requirements

Our preference is to appoint this role to a single individual, rather than an agency. This is in order to build a reliable process and standard of editing work.

The editor will have a minimum one years experience working with Adobe Lightroom and in particular have an ability to see and edit colours accurately and consistently based on the style agreed with the studio. The editor will have a strong ability to review images for culling based on the studio’s style guide and produce slideshows on a similar basis.
Strong written English skills and a good eye for detail are a must for the position.

Experience with the following would be beneficial, but not necessary: Adobe Photoshop for more detailed edits as needed and experience with Pic-Time for gallery hosting and slideshow production would be beneficial.

The studio has been using Aftershoot for AI assisted culling and editing and we are open to discussing the use of this software as part of the workflow to speed-up the process for both parties.

The editor will have Adobe Creative Cloud to maintain the current version of the required software. They will also have the hardware required for the prompt turnaround of edits and a screen suitable for the consistent editing of colours. Lightroom Catalogues and other info will be shared using Dropbox so a pro version of this will be necessary.
