Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced senior backend developer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our frontend team with the creation of our headless application. Our ideal candidate is passionate about problem-solving, supportive, hardworking, and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.

Working Hours
Preferred: 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM AEST/AEDT (Melbourne, Australia)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Maintain Backend Systems: Build, enhance, and maintain the backend of our business platform and point of sales system.
2. Collaborate with Frontend Team: Work closely with our frontend developers to integrate and support the headless application.
3. Optimise Database Queries: Utilise your expertise in advanced MySQL query optimisation to ensure our systems run efficiently.
4. API Development: Develop and refine REST APIs using Postman, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
5. Payment Integration: Implement and manage payment processing using the Stripe API.
6. Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and deploy applications on AWS, utilising services like Laravel Vapor.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our systems.

Skills Required:
1. PHP and MySQL Expertise: Extensive experience with PHP, MySQL, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
2. PHP Frameworks: Proficient in using modern PHP frameworks, particularly Laravel.
3. Real-Time Communication: Experience with real-time technologies such as Pusher or Reverb.
4. API Development: Skilled in developing and refining REST APIs using Postman.
5. Payment Systems: Familiarity with the Stripe API for payment processing.
6. Cloud Services: Experience with AWS and deployment using Laravel Vapor.
7. Frontend Technologies: Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
8. Version Control: Proficient in using Git for version control.
Bonus Skills: Experience with Python and frontend technologies like NUXT JS and Vue JS is a plus, though not essential.
